Histodifferentiation

Histodifferentiation is the process through which embryos develop from a relatively undifferentiated mass of tissues to become a mature embryo with different types of tissues. In plants, the histodifferention stages of embryogenesis are known as, Left to right in the photo, globular, heart, torpedo, and cotyledonary. Growth during this phase is by cell division. Once the maturation phase begins, growth is by cell enlargement.
